A few February updates
(classes, talks, and Valentine scent recs)
It’s February (!) and, although *every* season is scent season for many of us, this time of year always brings a wave of perfume content/coverage/sales/promotion.
If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em...so, in a sort-of-annual tradition, I’m giving a talk on the history of “romantic aromas” at the Brooklyn Brainery on Monday, February 9. [UPDATE: It’s full! thank you, registrants!] I’ve also just added a talk on classic perfumes from 1950-2000, on March 25. (Thank you, as always, Brainery!)
On February 26 at 6 PM, I’m taking part in a panel discussion at NYC’s Bard Graduate Center with Andreas Keller (founder of Olfactory Art Keller) and moderator Theodora Brown (a Ph.D. student at BGC). You can find more details and tickets here, on the BGC website.
Lastly, I recently chatted with beauty journalist Ariel Wodarcyk about perfume and romance, and she included a few of my recommendations in this article for InStyle. While I firmly believe we wear fragrance for ourselves first and foremost, I do also think we can choose perfumes that make us feel a little more amorous and glamorous when the occasion arises.
Wishing all of you some moments of love this week, however and wherever you may find or create them.
